On Friday, March 6, a friend of mine was in a fatal car accident. He was truly one of the best examples of humanity I have ever had the privilege to know. He was a roleplayer in ESO, and would often go out of his way to help new members learn to write epic stories. Giving random gifts, doing anything he could to make the people around him happy. Even if it meant completely breaking character and having a dance-off in the middle of town. Epitokos, Hunts-With-Magic, was family in the best possible way. He was the kind of friend that became family because you couldn't help but love him.

I will be working on some kind of art tribute, though I haven't decided what yet. It's still very raw.

Busy busy as usual, but things are starting to look up. Akatosh's scaly nethers, it might as well be the end of the world, I'm finally getting around to writing another journal. 'Journal'. Mmm, terminology matters, I suppose.

I'm currently enrolled at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, studying art in digital media. Video games, analog board games, the psychology and design of what makes games important to humanity. It's extremely fascinating and exciting. Another year, and I'll hopefully be graduating with a BA in Studio Art. Taking courses has propelled my skills forward in leaps and bounds, but I feel that I still have some work to do to refine my work and really polish it.

Over the last few months, I have been *incredibly* blessed to have several of my cute chibi fan-art pieces featured by the lovely people over at Zenimax. I've been playing Elder Scrolls Online since the Beta and Early Access, and adore the game. I really admire their artists; I really want to be able to create the same kind of stunning environments that they have on their loading splash pages. Absolutely breathtaking. One of these days I'll get cracking on doing something more in line with their game style, but for now all I really have time for are the quick chibis. Such is the busy life of a crazy chicken lady!

Seems to be my big hangup this month. Infant, Roleplays, guild raids against Deathwing, family visits.

I think I'm going to be cleaning my DA out of all the old work I've got cluttering up the place. It's not recent, it's terrible, it makes me cringe. Spring-cleaning, yay.

Alright, I know I'm really bad about this whole journal thing. What's this, ONE update in three years? Yeah, that's pretty pathetic.

My art has come a long way in the past year or so, having made the jump from traditional to digital and I feel I'm learning quickly. There's still a lot more out there for me to explore, but I feel I can handle it. New house, new job, new life...wow. I'm not too sure I'm going to know what to do with myself without good ole' Uncle Sam breathing down my neck all creepy-like, telling me where to go, how to dress and exactly how I'm going to live.

Ooh, thinking for myself. Scary.

My stock photos that I upload are free to use. You may manip them, cut them apart and do what you like to them for any art that is posted on DA. I do have a few rules, they're pretty lenient so no worries!

* Post a link to my gallery, or the stock you used in the comments of your deviation. I'm not going to require that you mar your art with a reference to my stock, it's one of my pet peeves to see a beautiful manip and a whole bunch of 'Stock by: M. Smith' scrawled on it like so much nasty graffiti.

* Please ask if you want to use them on another site. I'm really not mean, I'll likely say it's okay and you're good to go but there are a few pictures that I'm attached to.
